All dislikes and prefrences aside, I suppose it's time to begin handling this in an organized, somewhat professional manner.
I am Jade Curtiss. Since you are students and I am the teacher, I suppose things should be handled with a degree of respect. Either Mr. Curtiss or Professor Curtiss will be fine, though I will also accept Sir or Colonel~. As you may have gathered, I teach biology, which is a vital subject in understanding the structure, growth, origin, function, and evolution of living organisms; so I suppose in simple terms, how living things like yourself got here, how you work, and why you haven't killed yourself yet. I hardly have any rules for this classroom, which I suppose would make many of you quite happy. I do, however, have 'suggestions'.
Rule 1. I simply ask that you follow all the school rules. At least the most severe ones. I don't want to get in trouble if you end up killing someone.
Suggestions 1. I do not suggest you touch anything you haven't been told--by me--to touch. I have a few side experiments of my own going, and I wouldn't be all too happy if you messed them up. Oh, and you might get hurt. 2. Unless I say otherwise, I do not reccomend that you eat or drink anything in the classroom. Same goes for sticking your noses in something to smell it. 3. Breaking things is also something I do not advise. 4. I do, however, reccomend that you treat myself, your peers, and the supplies with respect.
Breaking the rule will result in punishment; following my suggestions may, if the action itself wasn't a punishment in itself. Punishments follow as thus:
Discipline 1. You will be given a detention when I see fit. Though, since I don't want to spend my free time sitting around a classroom as you write out sentances, for example, detentions will be short. Ranging from a minute to ten, I suppose. You'll be helping me gather some data. 2. If you break any supplies, you will be responsible for obtaining a class set of the particular supply you broke. I have a feeling we'll be going through supplies quickly. As you may have noted, I said 'obtain', not 'buy'. I'll leave how you get the supplies up to you.
As for grading, I don't plan on giving out many written assignments, but lab work will be frequent. Grading will be based on a 'pass and fail' concept. If I like your written work, you pass. If I don't, you fail. Lab work is graded on participation; if your participation is acceptable, you pass. Sub-par, you fail.
There will be extra-credit oppertunities. If I happen to miss a student mistreating supplies, disrespecting other students or myself behind my back, passing notes, or otherwise misbehaving, you will recieve extra credit for reporting these things to me, and perhaps I'll overlook some of your own misdeeds, should you ever commit any, in my class. Also, any 'dirt' you can get on any student would be a valuable thing for me to know.
Comply to these rules and guidelines, keep your attitudes out of the classroom, and I think we should get along fine. I'm not going to repeat myself here, so I hope you understand exactly what I expect from you young folk.

After meeting several of my students, I must say that my views on teaching have changed.
Never before have I wanted an assisstant this much.
Really, whiney brats in such large numbers is a fool-proof recipe for instant headaches! I am doubting the sanity of the authority here, forcing an old man like myself to deal with you kids all by myself~.
Though, I suppose if I must, I could just punish anyone who acts out. Of course, detention would be more of a punishment for me. Spending more time with the misbehaving students? Really, that's quite...illogical. No, I believe I have more suitable punishments in mind. Borderline illegal, but that should be enough to keep you in line, yes?

So they've got me a teaching position, have they? Imparting knowledge is not quite my forte, so to say. I do hope my students realize this, as it will make all of our lives easier. I hope to carry out these classes likened to the way a professor would teach. Or not 'teach', but merely do, as the case may be. Perhaps I should get a few assistants to do the actual 'teaching'.
